The U14 Boys applied for and were admitted to OYSAN's State Cup competition, but as a new entry, were required to play a play-in game to get to the tournament. The boys, the only travel team in the premier competition, met the MSC Wave this morning at 10:00 at Copley fields.

The Eastside Kickers, with only 12 players on their State Cup roster for today, dominated possession and took 10 shots and 3 corners to the Wave's 4 shots and 1 corner. However, with 2 minutes remaining in the game, the lack of subs took its toll and the Wave were able to break through and score to go up 1-0.

The Eastside Kickers still had a chance and earned a corner with time expiring. With the goalkeeper pulled up into the offense, a desperate save from the Wave goalkeeper preserved the win and sent our boys home. A great performance, the boys earned the respect of the league for getting where they were, and we vowed to be back next year.

Now on to a clash with AASL Div B #2 Rocky River for top spot in the league at 5:30pm!
